The Alpha Industries/New Era Oakland Athletics jacket is great looking, excellent embroidered and sewn details. I’m very happy with my initial impressions of the overall build quality.
It does run a little on the large size so be warned you are probably better off sticking to your true size.
I float between sizes XL or 2XL, usually closer to XL but depends entirely on brand. Alpha flight jackets when I was younger tended to be on the smaller, shorter more fitted side so I figured I would size up.
I’m 5’11” and about 225 lbs and even with a thicker sweater this jacket is roomy. Not over the top but I think XL would have been a better fit for me.
With all that said, it’s a great looking jacket and I’m genuinely looking forward to cooler weather. This will easily fall into a more early spring late fall midweight type jacket. It’s not for the deep cold but warm enough for a cool night with a slight chill, especially now that I can easily fit a sweater underneath.
Also to be mentioned here, JRs Sports were a delight to deal with, I very much appreciated doing business with them and would do so again in the future.
